This morning, my mother (the bravest lady I've ever known) wore bright
blue pants and a bright blue shirt, all of her makeup and jewelry, and
we drove her to St. Mary's Hospital to have a metal stent implanted in
her body. The stint will connect her esophagus and her small
intestine and will allow her to eat soft foods and drink liquids.
