PIRIOTS Explanation

Someone asked me "What the @&$% is PIRIOTS."

I guess some of you haven't been traveling with me from blog to blog, so I'll turn the light on about this sit-ch.

PIRIOTS is an acronymn for

People
I
Run
Into
On
The
Street

This city freaks me out because I run into people all the time. People from high school, people from summer camp, people who I remember from 3 years ago that I met at a bar, people I worked with for one day, and celebrities.

I used to really go into detail about these encounters. That's just too much work. From now on, I'm just going to list the names of the people I run into without specifics as to what happened when I saw them.

So here's some since last time I wrote about it:

I didn't speak to some of these people. So if you googled yourself, and you found this, you're right. I KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

I'm running a marathon

Here's what my fundraising email says:

Hi Friends,

On October 22, I will be running the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. It has always been a goal of mine to run a marathon, but didn't have any great reason. Then, the girls from my running group (The Welcome Back Trotters) joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as participants in their Team In Training program. Each marathon participant will be raising money and I'm asking you to help by making a contribution. I realize that the race seems far away. As I am already training for the 26.2 miles, I am also trying to train myself to ask good friends, co-workers, and family to donate their hard-earned money to this cause to reach my goal of $3900. Both numbers seem distant and overwhelming at this stage of the game!

Each donation helps accelerate cures for leukemia,
lymphoma and myeloma and brings hope to the patients and families who are on the front lines of the battle against these diseases.
