I didn't own a pair of jeans until I was 11. I was required to bring a pair of jeans to summer camp when I was 10. My parents thought that courderoys were jeans. I wore a lot of sailor dresses and smocked things. I liked it! It felt dramatic and old-fashioned. It felt unique! I didn't want to wear clothes that everyone else wore. Once, in 5th grade, someone gave me a splatter-paint sweatshirt. No way I wore that. I stuck with my gingham puffed sleeved button-up. How cool was I, huh! I went through a vintage clothing stage at the ripe age of 10! Wish someone back then woulda told me how cool I was. Also, when I was 10, I was way into Gilbert & Sullivan.
